Horne & Associates were instructed by Ringo Starr (Sir Richard Starkey, MBE) and his wife Barbara Bach (Lady Starkey) to secure planning permission for a stand alone building within the grounds of their listed building home in Surrey. The new building was to provide ancillary accommodation to the main house including a facility for practicing and recording music, a swimming pool, jacuzzi and gymnasium. After extensive negotiations with the Council, planning permission was secured without the need to appeal notwithstanding the Council’s strict policy on extensions and additions to existing dwellings in the countryside.
