An application for rear extensions and roof extension to a residential townhouse in Twickenham had been refused planning permission and Horne & Associates (H&A) were appointed to advise in respect of what the best options available to the client. It was considered that an amended planning application with a reduced dormer addition and amended fenestration could be acceptable, particularly given the presence of smaller rear dormer additions sited on the roofs of both neighbouring properties.

H&A advised the architects on the necessary amendmentsthe proposal to overcome previous objections. A supporting planning statement demonstratedcompliance with design guidance and policy and planning permission wassubsequently approved.
